Of course, there is a downside – It’s an antioxidant that is highly reactive with oxygen in the air and water so it’s difficult to deliver vitamin C to your skin in a way that is stable, effective and non-irritating. Under 10% it’s probably not doing much and over 20% doesn’t do much extra but it can lead to irritation.
